What does Great Place to Work® Certification and Ranking mean?
Great Place to Work® Certification: GPTW Japan selects the best workplaces with the qualifications for the benchmark by gathering and analyzing employee survey responses to announce the certified organizations.
Great Place to Work® Ranking*: Among the certified companies, GPTW Japan announces annually 100 Best Workplaces that stand out for creating exceptional employee experiences at the workplaces.
For the 2024 edition, 653 companies registered for the Great Place to Work® certification in Japan, of which 264 got certified. While all the certified companies had the chance to earn a spot on the Best Workplaces list, 100 of those companies were named on the list.
Apex joined the survey and got certified last year for the first time and was honored to debut on the 100 Best Workplaces list at the same time as the 11th-best workplace in the medium-sized company category!
*According to the GPTW Japan official website, all the qualified organizations were named on the annual ranking list until 2021.
The survey consists of two classifications, one for employees and the other for employers. The consultants in GPTW Japan and external experts carefully examine the results of the survey to compare it to the best workplace benchmark to determine the ranking. The questionnaire items and certification criteria are the global standard.
【Survey Contents】
The Great Place to Work® survey measures individual employee experience of five dimensions of the company culture through 60 statements, two open-ended questions, and 8 questions on attributes and perceptions without identifying their names.
In the other research, employers are asked about their specific efforts for creating better company culture, corporate policies and HR activities (talent acquisition, management’s leadership, their communication practices with employees, career development, diversity, work-life balance, CSR and more).
Why Apex is recognized as a great place to work
We celebrate special occasions and achievements together: Apex is always employee oriented with a harmonious culture of sharing their success together. Every celebration, event and trip fosters our positive work culture where everyone celebrates each employee’s efforts and accomplishments. This tradition enhances solidarity with each individual and improves the job satisfaction of the entire team.
People who deserve promotions are being promoted: We have clear promotion criteria and fair compensation structures based on performance. Transparency and disclosure of bonus breakdowns provide our employees with peace of mind and rewards commensurate with their efforts. That we truly value and recognize their hard work motivates their contributions to work and grow.
Open and diverse work environment: Apex offers an open and diverse work environment. Our relaxed culture, where the Managing Director and Directors work at the same desks as the ones given to the rest of the employees, creates a flat organizational structure with no sense of hierarchy. With a diverse team representing 14 nationalities and consisting of half male and half female, we embrace a wealth of cultural perspectives and maintain a global mindset, which generates new ideas and values that can expand our own potential.
