Several months have passed since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Japan, and while daily infections have been stable, the future still remains uncertain. For some, this means continuing to telework or returning to the office, but not all people have a choice in times of crisis.
As we shelter-in-place, many of us are asking ourselves, "what can we do to help those in need?" Naturally, much of the help comes in terms of donations to hospitals and medical workers who are fighting on the front-lines. However, there are many organizations not in the spotlight who are in need of support.
Recently, there was a COVID-19 outbreak at an orphanage in Tokyo. For these types of organizations, it can be difficult to secure proper medical supplies and resources to withstand these times. Additionally, finding ways to keep children physically and mentally active while sheltering-in-place can be increasingly challenging.
Since Apex has long called Ebisu and the surrounding area home, it only felt right to give back to the community that has helped us grow so much. After hearing the needs of the children at Meguro Wakabaryo, Apex was happy to donate:
Face Masks for children and adults
Anpanman jungle gym
Training tubes/exercise bands
Games (Mojipittan, Ninetiles, Carcassonne J)
DVDs (Toy Story, Moana, Monsters Inc., Frozen, Curious George)
In addition, Apex has made a donation of face masks to the Shibuya City Ward Office for distribution amongst organizations most in need.
We hope these donations will help to keep everyone safe, healthy, and happy. Together, we can make the world a better place by providing a helping hand and giving to those in need.
